Share this with someone who would benefit from attending. Their experience matters, and their voice must help shape what happens next.
Thank you to Cllr Lorraine Francis for leading on this campaign, championing those affected and keeping the call for accountability firmly on the agenda.
“The Windrush scandal left thousands of UK citizens feeling alienated, excluded, and ostracised in the country that they call home. British citizens were wrongfully targeted by UK immigration enforcement and as such, the Office of the Windrush Commissioner was set up to advocate for victims, ensure fairness through a compensation scheme and provide independent oversight and advice on government efforts.
As part of these efforts, the Windrush Commissioner, Reverend Clive Foster MBE is hosting a free listening and engagement event on Saturday 17 October between 13:30 and 15:30 at City Hall, College Green BS1 5UY.
Anyone affected by the Windrush Scandal can come and get accurate information about what support is currently available. If you are from the wider commonwealth community, you may wish to hear about your entitlements to status and potentially compensation.”
